a) my laptop monitor was flickering so i sent it in to future shop, under my warranty, to get it repaired. if they f*@# up my laptop and it starts having problems while i'm in university, i will seriously slit their throats. in the meantime, i'll try to blog as much as i can on my brother's laptop. i will be on semi-hiatus for 7-12 working days, as of yesterday.
b) i just saw one of the trailers for new moon and all its little groupies who are going nuts for it, and i have to say, i am majorly disappointed. to clear things up, i don't think i'll be disappointed in the movie (b/c god knows i'll watch it since i think it'll be WAY better than twilight). what i AM disappointed in, though, is the fact that MY Edward and MY Jacob aren't MINE anymore. they're almost every girl in the WORLD's Edward and Jacob. books were always my escape - my little world that no one could reach. now i'm forced to share it with billions of googley-eyed girls who want to run their hands over the ACTORS' bodies. *sighs* somehow, i can't even pull myself to read stephenie meyer's books anymore. it's just not the same. maybe i'll wait till the hype dies down again.
GOOD NEWS:
a) since i have so much time on my hand (now that i don't have a laptop), i decided to write my own novel in my spare time. it took me all of yesterday, but with the help of my boyfriend, i've got my main & secondary characters down pat & a plot on the go. i have the background information i need and a lot of details to work with. last time i wrote a story (8 pages back and forth, single spaced on the computer), my writing skills were a bit less than amateur. now that i've been reading a lot more books and i've been exposed to much more writing, hopefully i can create something worth reading. the final test? give the novel to my bestfriend ashlee to read b/c i know she loves fantasy and this one is going to have many fictional characters entailed. let's hope i finish this summer, b/c god knows what will happen if university starts and i haven't wrapped it up.
